I Shred, You Shred, We all Shred Clothes

I can't emphasize enough how much my dog shreds. I don't even understand how he does it. I walk away for all of 5 minutes and come back to a living room FULL of shredded clothes, pillows and whatever else he could get his paws on. He just sits in the middle of the mess looking up at me like "Momma look what I did just for you" with a huge grin on his face. When we first got him it was cute when he'd bring us a shredded toy within minutes of having it. Now it's not so cute when he's bringing me my shredded Victoria Secret bra I just bought last week. So here are a few tips we tried, that you can try if your dog is a shred-a-holic too:

1. Spend time playing with them- A tired dog is a good dog! If there snoozing, theres no time for them to make a meal out of your furniture.

2. Give them something to keep them occupied- a busy dog can't shred your shoes. Try getting a puzzle toy that you can hide treats or peanut butter in. 3. Discourage it, when you catch your dog in the act- I simply take the item away and say no. Then when he plays with a toy he should, give him a treat and encourage the behavior.

4.If none of the above works, find an area in your home for them to stay when your out. Possibly even a crate if they react well to that.

Say goodbye to destructive chewing once and for all
